Questions about getting a website.
Costs, timelines, SEO, hosting and security. Search, or pick a topic.
Cost 5
It depends on what the site has to do, but for a small business in 2026 you can expect roughly:
- R3 000 – R6 000 for a simple one-page site
- R8 000 – R15 000 for a proper multi-page business site with SEO
- R20 000+ for online stores, booking systems or custom features
Most of our clients take a website subscription: the site built for you, hosted and looked after for one monthly price, with no setup fee. Starter is R599/month (3 pages), Business R999/month (5 pages) and Premium R1 499/month (7 pages), with a 12-month minimum. Prefer to buy outright? Builds are R3 500, R5 950 and R8 950 once-off plus hosting from R200/month; custom projects from R14 950. Farming businesses get 25% off. See the full breakdown on our pricing page.
Every website needs hosting, a domain and security updates, so there's always some running cost, wherever you build. On a website subscription it's all in one monthly price from R599/month: the build, hosting, security, your admin panel and your .co.za web address, with no setup fee. If you buy your site outright, hosting is from R200/month (Host), and Care (R549) and Pro (R1 099) add changes done for you, reports and SEO work; your .co.za domain is about R200 a year. There are no other hidden fees.
DIY builders are fine if you have the time and an eye for design. What you don't get is someone thinking about your customers, your local SEO, your area pages, fast South African hosting, and tracking which page brings in each lead. Most DIY sites also cost R300–R600/month once you add a domain, email and premium features, plus your time. We give you a professionally designed site and your own admin panel to edit it, for one monthly price, with no setup fee.
Not on a website subscription: there's no setup fee, the build is part of the monthly price (12-month minimum), and you only start paying once you've seen your free preview and said yes. If you'd rather buy outright, we take a 50% deposit to start and the balance at launch. Monthly plans are billed in advance and can be paid yearly for two months free.
Most changes you can make yourself in your admin panel: text, photos, prices, whole new sections and pages. For anything bigger, Business and Premium subscriptions (and Care and Pro plans) include 1–3 hours of changes every month, or we do ad-hoc work at R395/hour billed in 15-minute blocks. You always get a price before we start.
Process 5
A Starter site is usually live in about 5 working days, a Business site in about 10, and a Premium site in about 15, once we have your content. The biggest delay is almost always waiting for photos and information, so we give you a simple checklist on day one.
Just the basics: what your business does, the areas you serve, your contact details, a logo if you have one, and any photos of your work, team or premises (phone photos are fine; we compress and optimise them). If you'd rather not write the text yourself, add copywriting and we'll interview you and write it.
Either. Every build includes a copy polish of what you give us: fixing structure, headings and SEO. If you'd prefer us to write it from scratch, our copywriting add-on is R450 per page: we ask you questions over WhatsApp or a call, write it, and you approve it.
Yes. We rebuild it on our engine, move your content across, and keep your existing page addresses (or redirect them properly) so you don't lose the Google rankings you've already earned. Migration from WordPress, Wix or anything else starts at R1 500 on top of the build.
No. Most projects run entirely over WhatsApp, email and short video calls, which is how we work with clients from Cape Town to Polokwane. If you're near Pretoria and prefer to meet, we're happy to come to you.
Admin panel 4
Yes, that's the whole point of your own Paxal admin panel. You log in, click a section, change the text or photo, preview it, and publish. You can also add new sections, reorder them by dragging, create new pages and change your theme. No code, and no waiting for anyone.
You can't break the design: the admin panel only lets you choose from sections that are already designed to work together, on any screen. And every time you save, the previous version is kept, so you can roll any section back in one click.
Text, headings, photos, prices, FAQs, opening hours, contact details, social links, whole sections (add, remove, reorder, hide), new pages with their own Google title and description, plus the theme, fonts, accent colour and animation level. You can also see your enquiries and visitor stats.
Yes. We can set up separate logins for you and your staff, and there's an audit log of who changed what and when.
Hosting 4
In South Africa, on infrastructure Paxal manages directly. That means pages load quickly for South African visitors, and when something needs attention you're talking to the people who run the servers, not a ticket queue overseas.
Yes. We point your domain at the new site. If your email is with Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 it stays exactly where it is; if you'd rather move email to us, we'll migrate it and set it up on your phone.
Our advice: use Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 for email. You pay them directly, they support it, and it works on every phone; on Business, Premium, Care and Pro we connect it to your domain for free. If you want a mailbox on our server, it's R59/month per mailbox and you manage it yourself in webmail.
Your domain, your content, your photos and your enquiries are yours. On a website subscription the 12-month minimum applies; after that, or on an outright build, give us 30 days' notice and we'll export everything and help your next provider get set up.
Security 4
Every site we host gets SSL (the padlock), a server firewall with automatic blocking of brute-force attacks, hardened admin logins with lockouts, security updates applied by us, and daily backups. Our engine also avoids the pile of third-party plugins that gets so many small-business WordPress sites hacked.
Every day, kept for 14 days. On top of that, the admin panel keeps a history of every section you edit, so you can undo your own changes instantly without needing a restore.
Our forms only ask for what's needed to reply, keep optional marketing consent separate and unticked, link to a POPIA privacy notice, and store enquiries securely rather than in a public folder. Our analytics don't use third-party trackers and never store raw IP addresses. (You're still responsible for how you use the information once you have it.)
Yes. We clean the malware, find and fix how they got in, reset access, and ask Google to remove any warning on your site. If your current host keeps getting hacked, we can move you to Paxal hosting at the same time.
SEO 5
We build every site so Google can understand it properly: clean structure, fast loading, correct titles and descriptions, a sitemap, business details in Google's structured-data format, and FAQ markup. We submit it to Google Search Console at launch. Ranking also depends on competition and time, and the biggest local boost comes from area pages and a verified Google Business Profile, both of which we set up.
Because people search in questions: "how much does X cost in Pretoria", "do you deliver to Stellenbosch". A FAQ page that honestly answers those questions matches those searches word for word, and when it's marked up as FAQ data, Google and AI assistants like ChatGPT can quote your answer directly.
Area pages are pages about your service in a specific place, like "Plumbing in Bloemfontein". If you serve more than one town, they help you appear when people search with that town's name. The key is that each page is useful and local, not a copy-paste with the town swapped; that's how we write them.
Not necessarily. Ads switch off the moment you stop paying; good organic SEO keeps working. We focus on getting you found organically first. If you want ads for a quick boost, your site will already be set up to track which ones produce enquiries.
AI assistants read websites the same way search engines do, and they especially like clear question-and-answer content and structured business data. Every Paxal site ships with both, which gives you the best chance of being the business an AI recommends.
Local 4
Yes, all over South Africa. We're based in Pretoria and work with businesses everywhere, from Cape Town, Stellenbosch and George to Durban, Gqeberha, Bloemfontein, Polokwane and Mbombela. Everything works over WhatsApp and video calls, so distance has never been the limiting factor.
Yes, and they're often where a website makes the biggest difference. Farms, agri suppliers and businesses in towns like Kimberley, George or Mbombela usually have far less competition online than the big cities, so a good site with town pages can reach the top of Google quickly. Farming businesses also get our agriculture pricing.
Absolutely. Everything from the first chat to launch day works remotely, and the site is built to rank for Cape Town or Durban searches specifically, with your suburbs, your service area and your local questions. Being based in Gauteng means you get Gauteng prices.
The build is the same, but the strategy isn't. In Johannesburg or Pretoria you're competing with many businesses, so we target specific suburbs and specialities. In smaller cities and towns like Kimberley, George or Polokwane, there's often less competition online, which means a good site with proper local SEO can reach the top of Google much faster.
Agriculture 4
Farms, agri suppliers, feed and seed businesses, farming co-ops and similar businesses whose main work is agriculture. Not sure? Ask us.
25% off every website subscription: Farm Starter R450/month, Farm Business R750/month and Farm Premium R1 120/month, built for you with no setup fee (12-month minimum). Prefer to buy outright? Half price on every build, but never less than R3 500: a 5-page Business site is R3 500 instead of R5 950, and a 7-page Premium site R4 500 instead of R8 950. Each comes with your own admin panel to edit text, photos and prices, and you see a free preview before you pay anything.
On a farm subscription everything is in the monthly price: from R450 a month, including the build, hosting, security, backups, your admin panel and your .co.za web address. If you buy outright, Farm Care is R200 a month (normally R549): hosting, security, backups, a monthly report and an hour of changes done for you, plus your .co.za web address at R200 a year (free if you already have one).
Because we want to see South African farming online and thriving. It is the same website and admin panel every other client gets.
No questions match that. Ask us directly and we'll answer within a working day.
