Who we are
Paxal ("we", "us") is the responsible party for personal information collected through this website. You can reach our information officer at [email protected].
What we collect
- Enquiries: when you use our contact form we collect your name, email address and, if you choose to give them, your phone number, business name, area and message.
- Website questionnaire: when you ask for a free preview we collect your business details and answers, your name, email address and phone number. We email you a link to confirm the address before your preview opens, so nobody can request one in someone else's name. We use this to build your preview and quote and to contact you about it.
- Anonymous usage statistics: pages viewed, the website that referred you and your device type. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages help people (it starts only after you scroll or tap, and Google receives your approximate location, device and the pages you view, not your name or details). We do not use advertising trackers. Your IP address is converted into a one-way code (a salted hash) and never stored.
- Cookies and local storage: we don't use advertising cookies. Google Analytics sets its own cookies (_ga) to tell new and returning visits apart; you can block them in your browser or with Google's opt-out add-on. Your browser remembers your light/dark preference, that you've seen our cookie notice, your questionnaire answers until you send them, and the page you first arrived on (so we can tell which pages bring in enquiries). Once you confirm your email, a cookie lets that browser reopen your preview for 7 days. None of this leaves your device except as part of a form you send.
Why we use it
To reply to your enquiry, prepare quotes, deliver services you've asked for, and understand which parts of the website are useful. We only send marketing messages if you tick the optional box on our form, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
Nobody, except service providers who help us operate, under confidentiality obligations. Our servers are in South Africa. Emails are delivered through Brevo, an email provider in the European Union, which has data-protection laws similar to POPIA. We never sell personal information.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping, then deleted. Website previews stop working after 60 days; questionnaire answers from people who don't become clients are deleted within 12 months. Anonymous statistics are kept in aggregate.
Your rights
You may ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it, by emailing [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
Security
This site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), hardened servers, restricted admin access and regular backups to protect your information.
