How long does it take to build a website?

Updated November 2026.

A small business website takes about 1 to 3 weeks of work once all the content is ready. The part that drags on is usually waiting for the content.

Our times

These are working days, counted from when we have your content:

  • Starter (up to 3 pages): about 5 working days.
  • Business (up to 5 pages): about 10 working days.
  • Premium (up to 7 pages): about 15 working days.

A custom project, an online shop or a booking system takes longer, and you get a date with the quote.

What causes delays

  • Photos and text. This is the most common one. Nobody can finish the site until they arrive.
  • Too many people deciding. Pick one person to approve the work.
  • The domain login. If the person who registered your address has left, getting access can take a while. Sort this out early.
  • Changing what the site has to do halfway through.

How to speed it up

1. Write down what you do, your prices and your towns, even roughly. We can tidy it up.
2. Take photos on your phone this week. Real photos of your work beat stock photos.
3. Find your domain and email logins before you start.
4. Reply to questions on WhatsApp the same day if you can.

If you would rather not write the text, we can do it at R450 a page after asking you some questions.

After it goes live

Being live doesn't mean being on Google. Google says it can take a few weeks to notice a new site. We submit your site to Search Console at launch. Here is what else you can do.

Questions

About 10 working days at Paxal, counted from when we have your content.

What your business does, the areas you serve, your contact details, a logo if you have one, and any photos. Phone photos are fine.

Often, if the content is ready and the site is small. Ask us on WhatsApp and we will tell you honestly.
